Dates Announced for 2018

A little tb to last years festival of our junior bursary winner.
We are currently updating the syllabus which will be sent out in August. The dates for this years festival are 10th 11th 17th 18th 24th and 25th March 2018. We hope to see many of you there. X

Our 2018 Adjudicator

We are delighted that our adjudicator for the 2018 Tilehurst Eisteddfod will be Francena Reston.

Early training was received from Betty Hassel at the Hammond School Chester and Ballet Rambert, including taking regular class with Nureyev, at Drew’s Academy in London.

Professional performances include working with Ken Dodd, The Bluebell Girls, Cilla Black, The Beatles, Tommy Cooper, The Clark Brothers, The Black Abbots, Morecambe and Wise and Billie Pearce, Choreographic work includes West End production Annie, London City ballet’s Carmen, European cabaret venues and cruise ship work, plus many British professional pantomimes. Students have danced with ballet companies including Kirov ballet, Norwegian National Ballet, Festival Ballet, National Ballet of China, Danish Royal Ballet, Northern Ballet and Festival Ballet with many others gaining television and radio contacts plus world-wide cabaret work.

2017 Adjudicator

We are very pleased to announce that Janet Palmer will be adjudicating the 2017 competition.

After training in all disciplines, Janet combined teaching, as 1st Assistant at the Mollie Mayhews School of Dance, with a professional career. Engagements included leading roles in ‘The Boyfriend’, ‘Salad Days’, pantomimes and musical revues. Choreography engagements included a production of ‘Trilby’ and two revues, one of which was
directed by Ken Loach.

An examiner for the Royal Academy, Janet has conducted numerous examining tours and teachers’ courses for the Academy worldwide. At the start of All England Dance, she became a committee member and ran the Northern Regional Finals. Janet is now Chairman of All England Dance as well as an Adjudicator and Fellow of The British and International Federation of Festivals.

Senior Bursary Winner

Well Done to Sophie Arthurs from North Hampshire Academy of dance for winning this years Bursary. The six finalists who were all chosen by the adjudicator Jayne had to dance one classical dance and one modern dance.
